Paris 2024: Qualified Teams for the Men's Basketball Tournament
Overview
The International Basketball Federation (FIBA) has recently announced the 12 teams that have already qualified for the Men's Basketball Tournament at the 2024 Paris Olympics. The qualification process spanned from August 2023 to 2024.
Qualified Teams
The qualified teams are divided into three groups of four teams each:
Group A
* United States * France * Australia * Italy
Group B
* Spain * Greece * Brazil * Puerto Rico
Group C
* Argentina * Slovenia * Germany * Iran
Qualification Process
Three Olympic Qualifying Tournaments (OQTs) were held to determine the final spots in the tournament. The host nations of the OQTs, Greece, Spain, and Puerto Rico, all emerged victorious. Giannis Antetokounmpo led Greece to successive victories, while Spain and Puerto Rico also secured their spots.
Next Steps
The remaining OQTs will be held in early 2024. The top two teams from each OQT will advance to the Paris Olympics. The final 12 teams will compete for the gold medal in Paris from August 6th to 18th, 2024.
