Electronic Toll Collection (ETC)
The E-ZPass system is an ETC method that allows drivers to pay tolls electronically from a pre-authorized account. I-PASS is the Illinois Tollways brand for the same E-ZPass system.
Toll Plaza Payment Options
Depending on the toll plaza, you may have the following payment options:
- Cash
- Credit cards
- E-ZPass/I-PASS
Toll Surcharges and Penalties
In some states, toll evaders may be subject to additional civil penalties and further enforcement. The specific laws vary by state.
Debt Collection Convenience Fee
For online or phone payments through debt collectors, there may be a convenience fee of $4.95.
License Plate Payments
Certain roads have license plate payment options. Check the list of roads and learn about payment time limits and any surcharges that apply.
Skyway Toll Payment
The Chicago Skyway toll is not eligible for payment.
