House of the Dragon Season 2 Announced

Eight Episodes Set for June 16 Debut

Return to Westeros This Summer

HBO's popular prequel series, House of the Dragon, is set to return for a second season this summer, with eight episodes scheduled for release. The first episode will premiere on June 16, followed by weekly releases on Sundays.

The second season will continue the story set in the world of George R.R. Martin's "Game of Thrones," focusing on the events leading up to the Targaryen civil war known as the Dance of the Dragons. The show has already been recognized for its quality, winning an Emmy Award for Outstanding Drama Series in 2023.

House of the Dragon's first season concluded with the death of King Viserys I Targaryen, leaving Westeros in a state of turmoil. The second season is expected to explore the aftermath of Viserys's death and the ensuing power struggle among his children and descendants.

The season premiere of House of the Dragon Season 2 will air on HBO at 9:00 pm EST on June 16. It will also be available to stream simultaneously on HBO Max.
